Dear Nandini, Naintara and Naira, Radhika and Padmini, I haven’t known Mooli all that long but I’m sure we both realised very quickly that we were always bound to be friends. I think we first met that lovely evening at Oken and Sum’s wedding in Tezpur and more recently spent much time yakking at an extended Pasighat party. There was always so much to talk about that I think it took me a while before I realised the Mongia connection (and that was probably thanks to Padmini who was also in Pasighat). To be honest I took it for granted that Mooli and I would have time to work on many projects together. I was flattered that he wanted me to appear as an eminence at his photo book launch and I expected him to be there as a mentor for the WW2 museum in Pasighat. I can only imagine the heartbreak of your own broken plans. Thank you for the shared images and music earlier this evening, it was good to be together in this strange and sad time. Yours in sorrow. And the hope that we will meet and talk and remember the happiness of knowing Mooli. K
